![]() ![]() Review: The mighty Honest Jon's Records brings in the new year with an exquisite and highly awaited set of long-lost gems from the most obscure Iranian recordings dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century. Hard as nails and ultra-forward-thinking in its execution, this is a power electronics album that should not be ignored! Warmly recommended. The producer's debut LP, ST, is a deep and convoluted blend of analogue electronics that have been processed with a dubwise frame in mind, recalling elements of PLO IN DUB. ![]() Review: The Knekelhuis imprint is truly becoming a gem in its own right, picking out the quirkiest, most interesting talent out there in the electronic ether a recent EP from London's EYE, for instance, was enough to make us into firm believers! Here, we have a new album from a new outfit, Violent Quand On Aime, and it feels like another sublime addition to a fast-evolving catalogue of pure quality. ![]()
